John Migicovsky
Born in Ottawa, Ontario, John Migicovsky’s passion for photography began while studying at university in Montreal. Photography became a medium for expressing his creativity and by looking through the camera lens John developed an appreciation for the world around him.
Through the creative use of his camera John has captured the spirit and sense of place of a myriad of subjects in this collection of his work reflecting images from the 1960’s up to the present day.
Although John’s photographs are in both colour and black and white, he has a preference for black and white images which stems from his studies of the early film classics and their ability to portray “the dramatic” in the unique way that only black and white cinematography allows. John’s fondness for this medium is apparent in this exhibition.
John’s photographs are representative of John being in the moment with his camera and capturing elements that have inspired him, resulting in a compilation of work that covers an eclectic spectrum of images.
